The Pacific side begins where the highway rounds the cape past Cabo San Lucas and turns north along open ocean. It is a different Baja from the Sea of Cortez side: bigger surf, emptier beaches, villas and small developments instead of resort clusters, and long stretches with nothing on either side of the road. The transfer is longer than the Corridor run and the last part of it often leaves pavement, which is why the vehicle assigned matters more here.
The practical warning worth giving on this coast is about the water rather than the road: most of the Pacific beaches here have strong surf and undertow and are not safe for casual swimming, which surprises people who booked a beach house sight unseen. They are superb for surfing, walking and watching the sunset, and the whale sightings from shore in season are the best on the peninsula.
Access is the other thing to plan for. Several villa developments here are reached by dirt or partly graded roads, and the turnoffs are not signposted in any way a first-time visitor would recognise, particularly after dark.
